Are you weary?

We all have weary seasons, right?

Mabye you are in one right now. Sometimes weariness comes from one big thing  or sometimes it can be from many little things that build. You may not even be able to articulate what is making you feel weary.

It could be that just nothing feels easy in your everyday life.  Physical weariness my be creating emotional weariness or it could be the other way around.

I’ve felt like I’ve been in one of those seasons for several months now. I tend to over-analyze and try to figure out all the nitty-gritty details of why I’m feeling weary. But I don’t think what is causing the weariness is as important as what I do about it.

What am I finding that helps right now?

  1. Just be honest with yourself and those around you. If you feel like you won’t come out of it on your own, then seek professional help. Know yourself. If you have become a constant Debbie Downer, then definitely get help to gain the right perspective!
  2. Rest in Jesus. This one is so important for me becaues Jesus is my hope and is the anchor for my soul.
  3. Be faithful with choices you can control – your sleep, your activity, being still with God and refilling your tank.
  4. Daily write down small blessings for which you are thankful. Gratitude is cultivated in the little, everyday recognition of what you have. Not in the big, rare moments. Those moments are what  reinforce what you already feel in your everyday life.

Have you heard anyone say, “do what you can do?” I may not have the energy to do all I want to do during these seasons, but I do what I can do. I offer myself grace over perfection which really is what I have to do in every season because each season brings it’s challenges.

If you are feeling weary, send me a message, so I can say a prayer for you.

Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.” – Matthew 11:28-30 (NLT)
